What is period underwear and how does it work?
Period underwear, also known as menstrual underwear or period panties, is a specially designed underwear that women can wear during their menstruation without using additional hygiene products such as tampons or pads. This underwear consists of several layers designed to absorb and retain menstrual fluid to prevent leakage and ensure a comfortable feeling during your period.
The way our period underwear works is based on a 4-5 layer system, depending on the item. The first layer close to the body, the gusset made of organic cotton, ensures that the leaking fluid is quickly directed into the inside of your period underwear. The 2nd layer contains the absorbent core made from innovative fibers. This works like a sponge and absorbs the transferred fluid in seconds. A liquid-impermeable membrane is attached to the absorbent core so that you can feel safe during your period both during the day and at night. This offers optimum leakage protection. The outer layer of underwear is made largely from our sustainable organic cotton. The materials are designed to absorb moisture quickly while remaining dry and comfortable without creating a damp feeling.
