Silk
Silk is the only naturally occurring continuous filament fiber. It is the lightest natural fiber, is obtained from the cocoons of the silkworm and is still mainly produced in Asia. Silk underwear is supple, has an elegant sheen and is light in weight.
Properties:
- good insulation against heat and cold
- very skin-friendly
- has the greatest strength of all natural fibers
- high moisture absorption
- is sensitive to perspiration
- soft, supple and fine
Tip: Real silk documents a touch of luxury and is used especially for fine lingerie. It should only be washed hand-warm and not ironed hot.
