Comazo donates 2.500 euros to the support association for children with cancer in Tübingen

Albstadt, 15/02/2025 – On the occasion of International Childhood Cancer Day on February 15, Comazo has presented a donation of 2.500 euros to the support association for children with cancer in Tübingen.

Holz als nachhaltiger Rohstoff

Cellulosebasierte Fasern wie zum Beispiel das von uns verwendete Modal®/ MicroModal® setzen sich in der Textilindustrie immer mehr durch. Doch was ist Cellulose überhaupt? Cellulose ist der Hauptbestandteil pflanzlicher Zellwände und das in der Natur am häufigsten vorkommende Molekül. Als natürlicher Baustein des nachwachsenden Rohstoffes Holz und aller anderen Pflanzen ist Cellulose biologisch abbaubar, sodass cellulosebasierte Fasern am Ende ihres Lebenszyklus wieder dem natürlichen Kreislauf zugeführt werden können.

Unsere cellulosebasierten Fasern beziehen wir vom österreichischen Qualitätsfaser-Hersteller Lenzing, der zur Gewinnung des Zellstoffs Buchenholz aus zertifizierter, nachhaltiger Forstwirtschaft verwendet. Gesunden Wäldern kommt aufgrund ihrer zahlreichen Funktionen als wichtiges Ökosystem eine besondere Bedeutung zu, sodass der verantwortungsvolle Umgang mit ihnen essenziell ist. Der Wald ist nicht nur Lebensraum für viele Tiere und Pflanzen, sondern als Sauerstoffproduzent auch für uns Menschen lebenswichtig. Vor allem Bäume entziehen bei der Fotosynthese viel CO2, binden dieses und tragen dabei in erheblichem Umfang zur Reduzierung des Klimawandels bei.

The support association works tirelessly for families whose children are being treated at the Tübingen Children's Hospital. It provides them with a temporary home near the clinic, allowing them to stay together during this challenging time. The association also funds essential psychological support services to strengthen parents and siblings. In addition to the monetary donation, Comazo has handed over thoughtfully assembled boxes of girls' and boys' underwear. These are available to young patients in emergencies at any time.

Sabine: As the mother of a former cancer patient, she knows firsthand how valuable the support of the association is.
Lilly: Our apprentice and Comazo model demonstrates that saving on our model budget makes such donation campaigns possible.
Alessia: Already in contact with the support association as a private donor, she is committed to raising awareness of the organization’s important work.

With this initiative, Comazo aims to send a message of solidarity and support families in challenging times.

At Comazo, we focus on authenticity - and we also show this in our photo shoots. What was intended as a one-off campaign for our 125th anniversary has now become a cult event. Instead of professional models, our employees, who know and love our underwear best, stand in front of the camera. This not only saves modelling costs, but also allows us to invest this budget in social projects.
